About the Workshop

The objective of the 100 Drawings class to strengthen the development of your drawing concepts and techniques through a rigorous concentration on the process of drawing. Students will explore a wide range of subjects and media as well as to experiment with collage, painting and mixed media applications. We will work from both observation and imagination at a pace of 20 drawings per day. Like running a visual marathon, 100 Drawings will inspire your creative spirit; bolster your confidence and open new avenues to enthusiastically make art in the future. SUPPLY LIST

About Dean Nimmer

Emeritus Professor, Dean Nimmer, is the former Chair of Painting and Printmaking at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where he taught for 34 years. He has exhibited his art in over 200 solo and group exhibitions across the US and in Europe, Asia, and Australia. Dean’s artworks are in numerous public and private collections including the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, DeCordova Art Museum, Smith College Art Museum, Harvard University and the New York Public Library. He is the author of the newly published North Light book, Creating Abstract Art, Ideas and Inspiration for Passionate Artmaking, Dean’s first book, Art from Intuition, (Watson-Guptill/Random House, 2008), is currently in its 6th printing. Dean was selected as the 2014/15, “Community Teacher of the Year” by the Massachusetts Art Education Association as well as winning the 2011 “Distinguished Alumnus Award” from the University of Wisconsin and the 2010, “Distinguished Teaching of Art Award”, given by the 16,000-member College Art Association.  http://www.deannimmer.com/
